A Guide to College Athletic Scholarships: A Personal Journey
CHICAGO, IL – February 11, 2013 – Matt Mayberry, speaker, fit-life strategist, fitness & health expert, business coach, and author releases his first book, entitled “A Guide to College Athletic Scholarships: A Personal Journey.” The book will be available in paperback and digital formats Spring 2013.
Mayberry was signed by the National Football League Chicago Bears in 2010. Reaching the pinnacle of his sport, he suffered a life changing ankle injury. It was this event that inspired Mayberry to embrace his true passion of helping others through personal coaching and development.
“A Guide to College Athletic Scholarships: A Personal Story,” tells the story of how Mayberry went from an average student athlete, with little prospects; to becoming a dynamic athlete with over a dozen scholarship offers by his senior year. Parents and students will find this book effective, as Mayberry takes them on a step-by-step guide thru the athletic scholarship process, regardless of their sport. The book is available for pre-order on Mayberry’s new multimedia website, [www.mattmayberryonline.com].
Mayberry was team captain at Hinsdale High School and highly recruited by universities across the country. He ultimately chose Indiana University where he was team captain from 2009-2010, earning All Big-Ten honors in his senior season, and lead the Hoosiers in tackles in his junior and senior years. Mayberry was awarded team recipient for the prestigious Howard Brown Award which exemplifies leadership, courage and work ethic.
