The One and Only Secret for Achieving Massive Success

Turn on the TV or flip through your favorite magazine and chances are you will come across some ad or article that promises massive success in your life or business if you just buy this particular product or do this one particular thing. It’s all a lie.

There is no secret to achieving massive success. As human beings, it’s not out of the ordinary at some point to look for a shortcut or seek ways to maximize results without maximizing the effort. This type of thinking is carried by the majority of the population.

The fact of the matter is that there are absolutely no shortcuts to accumulate massive amounts of success or to live out your dreams. And there certainly are no secrets that you don’t know about.

The one and only secret to success is taking persistent, massive action. Every high achiever knows this truth. The reason why so many neglect this very important aspect is because actual work has to be done. There is nothing sexy about it. It may not always be the “fun” thing to do, but it always will be the right thing to do when you are in pursuit of greatness, looking to maximize business success, or achieve a specific goal. Taking persistent, massive action requires you to get out of your comfort zone and move even when you may not feel like it.

Create your own opportunities.

Over the years, I have learned one thing is for certain. Those who are willing to take relentless, persistent, and massive action begin to create their own opportunities. Instead of waiting for the perfect time, they go out and create the perfect time. As an entrepreneur and business owner, especially in the beginning stages, you must be willing to do the dirty work.

Increase is the name of the game.

Make it a game with yourself. If you made 20 phone calls yesterday, make 60 today. If you are visiting with prospects 10 times a month, do more. The name of the game is increase! Increase action, increase persistence, increase relentlessness and increase results.

Find ways to fire yourself up.

There will be times where taking massive action is the last thing you will feel like doing. That’s why it’s an absolute must to find ways to fire yourself up. Hang your most important goal somewhere where you will see it daily. Talk yourself through. Whatever you have to do, constantly search for ways to fire yourself up and keep yourself in the game. Let the competition fall off and become complacent, but not you. Determine what that “something” is and make it a part of your daily routine.

Massive success doesn’t just happen overnight. But if you are willing to wake up each morning and declare that you are going to compete with the person you were yesterday and constantly take massive action, you will be well on your way.

10 Ways to Become the Most Productive Person Around

Have you ever come across someone who just seemed to get so much done and was by far the most productive person you knew? Why can’t you be that person?

Here are 10 ways to become the most productive person you know.

1. Eat to win.

We really are what we eat. The “eat to win” mentality is fully understanding that what we put into our bodies greatly effects our focus, energy and well-being throughout the course of the day. A junk food diet will lead to a junk performance. When we start our day by consuming foods that increase our energy, focus and well-being, we instantly set ourselves up for a productive day.

2. Start your day with a green smoothie.

There is no better way to feed our mind and bodies than consuming an alkalizing drink such as a green smoothie first thing in the morning. One of my favorite recipes is as follows: 8 ounces of water, 2 handfuls of organic spinach, 1 apple, 2 stalks of celery and a juiced lemon. This drink is high in fiber, which will help rid the body of toxins and provide us with the vitamins and minerals needed for world-class energy levels.

3. Plan your day the night before.

Take 10 to 15 minutes to plan your day the night before. Adopting this habit yields phenomenal benefits. Lack of sleep mostly comes from thinking about all you have to do the next day. This makes the mind restless, and it becomes much more difficult to get a good night’s rest. Planning your day the night before should crush this problem right away. When we plan our day the night before, we wake up ready to hit the ground running knowing exactly what has to get done.

4. Write a productivity creed.

This has been an absolute game changer for me. For example, my creed is written on a note card that reads, “I, Matt Mayberry, am the most productive person I know. I dominate my day and move quickly from task to task, accomplishing things that matter most.” This simple creed has worked wonders and I carry it around with me everywhere I go. When I catch myself in a funk, I glance down at my creed and get right back to work. I look at this creed at least 10 times throughout my day.

5. Jumpstart your day with a workout.

I say it all the time. Fitness is the best productivity tool you can ever invest in. Find a routine that works best for you and work that routine into the ground every morning. By starting our day with a workout, we get the blood flowing and rid ourselves of the morning blues with the release of endorphins. Not only does a good workout release stress and increase energy, but you will feel super charged and ready to conquer the day.

6. Drink up!

Instead of rushing to grab a cup of coffee every time you feel sluggish or tired, drink some water. Our bodies need proper hydration to perform at our absolute best. It’s a natural tendency to look for an instant “pick me up.” These methods of energy are very short lived. The human body is made up of over 70 percent water. More times than not, when you are feeling sluggish or tired, you are dehydrated. Water is a fundamental aspect of high performance.

7. Do not disturb.

How many times throughout your day has someone come into your office and interrupted you just to talk about nonsense? Chances are you are getting interrupted via text, phone or email throughout your day. If you work in an office, set up a “Do Not Disturb” sign when it’s time to get important work done. If you work from home or outside of an office, set a policy so people know not to call or interrupt you during certain time blocks. If you are able, completely silence and stow your phone away so there is no distraction or urge to stray from the task at hand.

8. Take a walk or eat lunch away from the office.

Instead of eating lunch at your office, find the nearest place where you can step away and enjoy yourself. A great way to rejuvenate and be prepared to attack the rest of the day is to take a lunchtime stroll. Eating lunch outside of your regular work place or going for a midday walk helps to clear your mind of clutter and distractions from earlier in the day. This should recharge you for an even more productive second half of the day.

9. Hour to greatness.

This is one whole hour first thing in the morning that is dedicated to preparing my mind, body and spirit for the day ahead. This routine consists of reading an uplifting book for 15 to 20 minutes, rewriting my goals while visualizing the achievement of each one, meditating on my productivity creed while looking over my to-do list for the day, and finally, flooding my mind with positive and motivational messages via audio. This alone can drastically skyrocket productivity levels. Instead of watching all the negativity that’s on the news or in the newspaper, indulge in preparing your mind for a phenomenal day.

10. Decide.

To actually become the most productive person around, you must first decide to do so. Don’t beat yourself up over how unproductive you’ve been or relish over how productive someone else is. This will never get you to where you need to go. Making the decision is half the battle. Once you’ve made up your mind, you will begin to challenge yourself to see just how much you can accomplish any given day.

What the NFL Taught Me About Being a Motivated Entrepreneur

Let’s face it, entrepreneurs and business owners deal with more stress, challenges and setbacks than most. As the going gets hard, motivation levels tend to decrease drastically.

The experience and amount of hardships that come along with entrepreneurship is a lot like a roller coaster. Things start off slow, then, in a blink of an eye rapidly shoot out the gate, offering up plenty of twists and turns along the way. Hopefully, at the end of the ride your arms are high in the air in complete satisfaction.

That said, those twist and turns are trying times where pressure and frustration may have you second guessing what exactly it is you got yourself into. That’s why it’s very important we take control of our emotions and find ways to fire ourselves up.

As a former professional athlete, I had to constantly program my mind and motivate myself even in the midst of some of the most difficult times in my life. These are the exact same strategies I have been implementing into my everyday life for the past ten years which have helped me achieve some audacious goals as an entrepreneur.

Here is what I have learned along the way about staying motivated all day long.

Carry a ‘trigger card’ around with you everywhere you go.

I call it a “trigger” card because one glance at this notecard should have you fired up and ready to take things to the next level immediately. It consists of writing your two most important goals on a notecard in the present tense as if you already accomplished them. On the flip side of the card, pick two to three quotes that really move and inspire you. Whenever you are feeling down or unmotivated, pull your trigger card out and read it over a few times.

Talk to yourself like a champion.

Thinking positive and empowering thoughts is one thing but talking to yourself like a champion, reconditions your thought process in an instant. With power and conviction, repeat phrases such as, “I am the greatest at what I do,” “There is nothing that I can’t do when I fully commit myself,” and “There is nothing ordinary about me. I am a champion.”

Rewrite your goals at some point throughout the day.

It is important to pick a time (or two) during the day to rewrite your goals. From my experience, I have observed that a majority of people have goals wandering around in their head, yet, only a small percentage have clear, written out goals and an even smaller percentage rewrite their goals daily. Throughout our hectic day we become very susceptible to fall off track and forget about what we are striving towards. This alone can take motivation levels to the next level throughout the work day.

Search for ways to grow and invest in your personal development.

This is a complete game changer. Constantly feed your mind with material that will uplift your spirit and help you grow in your line of work. Try turning off the music and indulging in a good audio book during your commute to work. Read for 10 to 15 minutes on your lunch break. Reach out to a friend or mentor who always seems to leave you in a more positive and motivated place.

Super Bowl

Now that the football season has come to an end, the Seattle Seahawks are crowned world champions. Just like the vast majority of the country, I tuned in to watch the game last night. I wasn’t necessarily rooting for one team in particular, but I did strongly believe that the Denver Broncos would come out victorious.

After all, they have one of the best to ever do it in Peyton Manning. It’s very hard to bet against greatness and a player of Peyton’s caliber.

I must admit, I was utterly shocked when halftime rolled around. However, I had no doubt in my mind that Peyton and that high powered offense would get their team back in the game. Boy, was I ever wrong.

The Seattle Seahawks completely dominated from start to finish. Even though the Broncos have a future Hall of Famer in Peyton Manning, the resilience and total team effort by the Seahawks was entirely too much for Denver.

The beautiful thing about football is that it can teach us a lot about life. What the Super Bowl taught us last night is that when you are willing to go all out for your dream and everyone buys into the same vision, victory is the end result.

Much of the talk leading up to last night’s game was how Seattle had no one on its roster with Super Bowl experience. Experience or not, Seattle wanted it more than Denver did. It was like watching a professional team play a college team. The Seahawks looked bigger, stronger, faster, and hungrier than the Denver Broncos. They were going all out for their dream.

Last night’s game reminded us the importance of just that.

The odds might be stacked against you, just like they were for the Seahawks, but when you are willing to do whatever it takes and believe in yourself and your vision every step of the way, you most certainly can live your dream.

Even though you don’t play for the Seattle Seahawks or Denver Broncos, you have a Super Bowl championship to go out and win every single day.

Take note of what Seattle did to earn the right to be called world champions. It wasn’t luck. It was a whole lot of preparation, tremendous belief, perseverance, and teamwork in order for their dream to work.

No matter what you do for a living, we can all take away the life lessons the Seattle Seahawks demonstrated all season long.

Silence The Noise And Fight For Your Dream

Fight-For-Your-Dreams

This is extremely important. Just because people tell you that you’re out of your mind or dreaming way too big, doesn’t mean you have to listen!

I am a prime example of what can happen when you silence all of the negativity and go to work on your dream, whatever your dream is, every waking moment.

In high school, I was told I will either be dead or in jail by the time I was 21. When I came to my senses and had a very special moment with the man upstairs, I decided once and for all that I wanted to change my life.

At the time, the only way I knew how to pay back those I hurt and loved the most, was through athletics. Right then and there began a whole new journey for me. I proudly went around telling all of my family and friends that I wanted a Division One scholarship for football.

People laughed at me, even those who loved me most. What did I do? Silenced the external noise and fought day and night for my dream. Every waking moment I worked on my craft and just knew that I was going to make something of myself.

Six months later, I received a total of 19 Division One scholarship offers from some of the most prestigious athletic programs in the country.

Once I got to college at Indiana University, it began all over again. I repeatedly was told, “You made it collegiately, but you will never play a down of professional football.” I kept working on my dream and most importantly never lost faith. Three years later, I signed a contract with the Chicago Bears.

Unfortunately, I suffered an injury while playing the San Diego Chargers. The same old noise and negativity found its way back into my life. Over and over again I was told how athletes never make anything of themselves once they are done playing their sport.

The injury I sustained wasn’t career ending, but I was out long enough to reflect back on my journey. This is where I discovered my true purpose. My WHY.

Three years later, I have a phenomenal team of 7, and I get to travel and speak to some of the greatest companies in the world.

Please understand, none of this is to impress you, but to impress UPON you. That if I can do half of what I have done throughout my 26 years of life, you can too.

Never lose belief in yourself and all that you are capable of. Always remember to work day and night towards your goals, and NEVER listen to the opinion of others when it comes to YOUR dreams.

Expect the Best

Believe and Expect the Best

Today, expect the best. So many people get down and undervalue the tremendous potential that is already within them because way too much time is being focused on their current circumstances.

It’s very easy to get caught up in our current circumstances, especially if we are not happy with where we currently are in life. However, focusing on our circumstances will always rob us of the greatness that is already within us.

When we focus on where we are and how much we are unsatisfied, we run into the trap of dwelling on the negative.

When we dwell on the negative, we start writing the wrong stories to ourselves. Instead of looking at all the opportunities in front of us, we are reminded of all the problems that consume us.

At the time, it’s difficult to see how this negatively impacts us. It robs us of our power and takes away our ability to move forward in life.

Faith is believing and seeing into the future even if your current circumstances are not so great. Faith pulls you into the direction of hope. Hope provides us with the strength to take action and develop a self-belief to conquer our minor frustrations and road blocks.

Choose today to expect the absolute best for your life. Focus on all the good that surrounds your life. I don’t care who you are or what you are experiencing, if you look long and hard enough you will eventually find some good that’s taking place in your life right this moment.

On this beautiful December day, activate your faith and hope. Put an end to your negative thoughts and start reminding yourself how special you truly are. As you begin to focus on how amazing and powerful you are, your current circumstances will never be able to hold you back.

Today, confidently move forward in the direction of your dreams. I’m extremely excited for you, because once you see past your current circumstances, wonderful and amazing things begin to happen. Breakthroughs come knocking.

The Power is Already Within You

The Power is Already Within You

The past failures. The past mistakes. The past heartbreaks…..Let them go! Stop letting things from the past weigh you down and paralyze you from tapping into the amazing God given power that is already within you.

Directing your focus towards everything that went wrong in your life will do nothing but keep you exactly where you are at. If you want to move forward in life is which I am sure you do, you must be willing to press forward and focus on all of the positive in your life.

The seeds of greatness are planted in each and every one of us. Not in some of us, but all of us. We all have big dreams and strong desires. Things we want to accomplish, things we want changed, and things we want to do throughout the course of our lives. But so often, life has a tendency to get in the way. Big plans never fall through. Tragedy strikes once again. This can create an atmosphere for settling to take place. Settling for second best and less than what you deserve.

Don’t settle for second best. Don’t put the power and greatness that is already within you on the back burner. We are all here for a purpose. Nothing in life is a waste and most certainly not yourself. Instead of focusing on the losses in your life, focus on the wins. No matter how big or small they may be, get in the habit of counting your blessings. Your wins. The moments of happiness.

Do everything in your power to get your fire back. Claim your greatness and recreate your swagger. Develop and search for a deeper meaning for your life. Continually put yourself in a positive, faith-filled environment everywhere you go. Don’t wait for others to do good until you do good, take initiative and set the tone. Be the leader you were born to be.

The message that I want to get through to you today is that you are already equipped with everything you need to make your life phenomenal. To make your life a masterpiece and leave a spectacular legacy that lives much longer than you do.

Don’t wait any longer to speak and think victory over your future. Every day remind yourself how powerful you truly are. Say over and over to yourself, “I am a winner. No loss or defeat can override the greatness that is already within me. I am blessed with an overwhelming amount of joy.”

The power is already WITHIN YOU.

Live Your Life Like it Matters

Life That MattersIf you have made mistakes or failed in the past, so what!  If you have been a success and everything is going just fine, you can do better!

Every moment in life is an opportunity to get better.  No matter what has happened in the past, whether good or bad, we should always be searching for new ways to grow, learn, and capitalize on past failures and successes.

There is something beautiful within you.  There is something powerful within you.  There is something extraordinary in you.  Don’t live life out of past experiences.  Live out of your imagination.

Take a moment and look around.  See all of the amazing possibilities that are all around you.  Envision yourself living your best life.  Picture yourself achieving your biggest goals and dreams.  How does that make you feel?  Capture that moment and never forget how it makes you feel.

It’s very important to never stop running toward your dream.  You have everything you need to make your life a masterpiece.  Right now isn’t the time to get caught up in the many distractions that loom all around you.  Right now isn’t the time to give up and let fear override your biggest aspirations and dreams in life.  However, right now is the right time to keep believing and working all day and night on your dream.  Right now is the right time to give new meaning to your life.  Right now is the right time to live with passion and make the most out of today.

Don’t go another day postponing what’s important to you.  No one will ever just hand you a life worth living.  That will come from a burning desire to do more and become more daily.  Accept nothing less than world class.  Accept nothing less than excellence.  Accept nothing less than living what’s inside of you.

Do everything in your power to not just go through this day, but to GROW through this day.  Live your life like it matters, because it most certainly does!

Talk To Yourself Like a Champion

We all fall victim to negative self-talk from time to time, saying things about ourselves such as, “I never do anything right.  I look terrible.  I’m not smart enough.  I don’t have the right resources.”

As Proverbs 23:7 says, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”  In other words, the way we talk to ourselves will most definitely affect our lives.  Start talking to yourself like a champion.  Repeat over and over again to yourself, “There is nothing average about me.  I wasn’t put here to be just ordinary.  I am special and I have greatness within me.”

When you switch the negative self-talk with positive and uplifting words, the quality of your life will start to change.  One of the biggest misconceptions is that we need materialistic things or to reach a certain level of success before we can be fully happy and live a great life.

We create our own happiness and one thing you have to understand is that no amount of success will replace negative or self diminishing self-talk.

Next time you find yourself downplaying your ability or second guessing a situation, talk to yourself like a champion.  No one will believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself!

Action tip to help talk to yourself like a champion throughout the day:

Write powerful statements and uplifting quotes on a notecard.  This exercise has helped me tremendously with battling negative thoughts or situations during my day.

The key is to keep your notecard in your purse, wallet, or pocket so you can easily access it.  Look at this card and repeat the words with conviction.  If you make this a habit, you will begin to see increased motivation and boosted confidence levels.
